AllvertaGlobal – Alex Rins has certainly not participated in the 2022 German MotoGP race. The Suzuki Ecstar racer withdrew because he was still recovering from a wrist injury.
The decision was taken by Rins and the Suzuki team ahead of the German MotoGP qualification, Saturday (18/6/2022) night WIB. Rins withdrew after feeling pain in his left wrist following his third free practice session at the Sachsenring circuit.
This injury is still related to what happened to Rins at the 2022 Catalunya MotoGP. The Spaniard had a terrible accident with Takaaki Nakagami and Francesco Bagnaia.
“After giving his best, Alex Rins has decided to withdraw from the Liqui Moly Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland with pain in his left wrist which is proving too much to handle,” said an official statement released by MotoGP.
“Team Suzuki Ecstar participated in Friday’s action and FP3 on Saturday despite suffering a double fracture at the Catalunya GP two weeks ago but have since reassessed the situation and decided to focus on recovery this weekend instead.”
Alex Rins spoke about his decision to withdraw from the 2022 German MotoGP. He hopes to recover in the next race at the 2022 Dutch MotoGP.
“I have decided, together with the team, to stop racing and not compete in the races this weekend. Today the feeling with my hand and wrist is a bit worse than yesterday,” said Alex Rins.
“I was in a lot of pain trying to do fast laps, so I felt I couldn’t compete. For this reason, we prefer to focus on recovery in order to be stronger for the race in Holland. Hopefully my physical condition will be better at Assen, especially because of the track I really like.”
