AllvertaGlobal – United States Cyber Command (US) specialists were deployed to Ukraine, and carried out offensive operations against Russia. This was conveyed by the commander and Director General of the National Security Agency (NSA), Paul Nakasone on Wednesday (1/6/2022).
As reported by the RT page on Thursday (2/6/2022), on the sidelines of a cyber conference in Estonia, Nakasone also revealed that US eavesdroppers were carrying out an information war, with the help of media companies such as CNN.
Nakasone is known to be a four-star general, heading Cyber Command and the National Security Service at Fort Meade, Maryland. He was in Tallinn on Wednesday for CyCon, the 14th International Conference on Cyber Conflict, hosted by NATO.
Nakasone said US cyber specialists had been deployed to 16 countries overseas at the invitation of their allied governments. This is done to hunt ahead in search of foreign hackers, and identify the tools they use.
“We left in December 2021 at the invitation of the Kiev government to come and hunt with them. We stayed there for almost 90 days,” said Nakasone.
The team left Ukraine in February, along with all other US troops, ahead of the Russian attack.
Nakasone also confirmed, for the first time, that the US carried out an offensive hacking operation in support of Ukraine.
